Lesley left college in 1975 and remained in Bedfordshire, teaching initially at Harrold and then moving on to Ashcroft High School in Luton as Head of Girls' PE. She took a break from teaching whilst her son and daughter were of pre-school age. When she returned to the profession it was in the first instance to teach English and then to move to Special Needs. She retired in 2011 after spending many years as the SENCO at Sharnbrook Upper School. She continues to support students at Sharnbrook by being responsible for completing assessments for special access arrangements for exams .
Her daughter is a primary teacher and Lesley really enjoys helping out with her class once a week. Also she regularly attends the Bedford film society and volunteers with the Cinnamon Trust. All in all a busy retirement!
Lesley joined the BPEOSA Committee in 2002 and has enjoyed being involved in many new developments over the past few years.
